Several times now the question has been posed to me and by me.  From friends, kids, wife...etc.  Will we have to defend ourselves in America?  The real question is from what will we defend ourselves?  And how?

The first line of defense is political.  At least according to Tea Parties and the like.  Call your senator, call your congressman...etc.  But what happens when they stop representing you?  When they stop taking your calls?  What then?

The elections come...and those who have made unwise choices are ousted from their elected seats of power.  In theory this works fine.  But what happens when the people we put back into office are also intentionally misrepresenting the people?  What happens when the majority of the country exercises it's preference to live in a secular society that has strayed far from the principles of God's authority?

Well it logically follows that the majority rules.  What previously was a moral society guided by Divine principles from a God which everyone acknowledged becomes an empty shell of Godless, evil, selfish men, who take the seat of dictatorship.

America is unique...but that is because godly men founded this country.

So how long does one wait before rising up to take arms against a tyrannical government?

Has the government or those who are running it found a way to outsmart the writers of the constitution?

Without a weapon fired the infiltration of our country has been underway for decades.  A sinister plan to undo the freedom which has ruled America for two centuries, is now unfolding in it's glorious and dastardly flower.

Did we really beat socialism and communism?  Or did we just stamp it into the ground for awhile by force? It sure seems like it is coming back this way.  And it seems that communism rides on the backs of lazy, apathetic citizens, who desire handouts from the government.

What is really disturbing about this...is those same people may be the people that end up fighting against freedom loving patriots.

It then becomes a war of ideas.  We already see the battles taking place.  The eviscerating comments from both left and right minded politicians, seem to pile up daily.

The christian seems to be accused more and more of being narrow minded by those who want to ignore the morality and authority of God.  Well we have a real fight on our hands now don't we?

This Constitutional Republic worked so well when the people in authority were still submitted to the reality of God's existence, in a christian manner.  But now...the weaknesses of our form of government are becoming apparent.

This is apparent in so many ways, as unbelievers without the fruits of the Holy Spirit have taken a majority of the government and the popular vote.  In a desperate hope for someone to fulfill their need a trusting group of Americans put their faith in man and government instead of God.  They ought to have been praying for God's intervention, but instead they were wandering...looking for the answers in all the wrong places.

God allows this action...because it needs to happen.  People need to go through their own learning process.  But some never come out of the shell which was driven into them from birth by parents living in a poverty mentality.

Poverty of the mind, affects every aspect of life.  Those who will fight against freedom from government do so because the government is supplying their checks.  Meager as it might be...(especially as more and more people require "government assistance" just to make it by this month) it is the reward of government for the acquiescence of the people...the unwitting acceptance by the governed to become vassals of the state and expected to be grateful for the handout.

The opposite of these poverty minded folks would be those who want to work in the world, make things happen, build new organizations, take risks on great ideas, put some skin in the game of free enterprise capitalism.  Become self sufficient as much as you can.  Be generous with your neighbors from the blessing of God on your life.

But above all...we will fight with these people because Jesus Christ is the only God.  But how will we fight them?

Will we shoot our way to freedom? again?

Will we go into captivity like the Jews in WW2?

Will you "hold your fortress" against hungry suburban zombies?

Or will we fight a battle that is not of flesh and blood, but against spiritual wickedness in the heavenly places.

Whether you get a check from the government or not...the real question is do you really want to just subsist on that handout?  Or would you like to do something with your life that has some meaning...and enjoy the journey along the way.  Through affliction and through joy.  Whatever the circumstance.

And perhaps...if you try hard enough...to be exceptional you might even be very prosperous.

I have heard the old saying. "Can't never did  anything."  The point is, it is up to you to take care of yourself, and it is a lot easier when God is involved.  So can we capture a few who have lived in the poverty mentality and really just need to be encouraged in their gifts and talents to try and succeed on their own?

The separation between those who believe they can and those who believe they can not is rooted in their relationship with God.  If they worship God, then life can be hard, but they accept the will of God in good and in bad.  If they worship something else like money, or popularity, or security...they will be sorely disappointed when there check runs out, or the popularity contest is over...or the bottom dropped out of their nest egg, because the stock market took a crap.  What kind of security is that?

God promises eternal security.  Whether we live or die we are the Lord's.  And that is a sure and good thing.

So how will you fight?  What will you defend?

America as previously mentioned, is not the same as it was, when 13 colonies became the United States of America.  More people.  International influence.  Global Financial influence.  America is a dying lifestyle, which rings hollow of American Dream over-indulgence for decades.

The true cry for freedom is for a releasing from the painful and fascinating existence on this earth with sin and sanctification from sin.  Every soul wants to be accepted.  But will they find their creator and embrace Him? Or will they turn to the flesh and die?

Our fight is truly a spiritual one.  But we see it manifested in our world and it's people.  There is a time for war.  God appoints the events of men.  God establishes authority on the earth through governments.  Men corrupt those governments and take undue homage from the pesky people over which they rule.

So make your choice...how will you fight?  What will you defend?  How do you know?  Or do you know already?

Fighting spirit?  Flesh?  Both?

Thank God for his strong Word and get wisdom from it.  Repent and turn yourselves from your idols to the true and living God and He will answer.
