One could hardly ask for a more fair definition and explanation of Austerity than is given at wikipedia.com here at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austerity
Please read the article to get an idea of what austerity truly means in it's many circumstances and impositions by government as well natural affects of a self correcting economic system.
But given all that...how is austerity going to affect the USA?
With regard to this...one has to take into consideration the current position of the USA. It is reported that the USA has spent more than it can ever repay and it is only a matter of time before the financial and economic system begins a societal collapse and possible elitist takeover. Is this what we are to expect?
Will there be those who will have to fight for their survival having planned well for such terrible circumstances?
The worst case scenario of course is that this is an intentional implosion of the United States as an economic leader, promulgated by the other countries of the world, as the global economic system finally begins to equalize.
America has been living on borrowed money for decades and the time is coming when the lender will not tolerate are slothful and spoiled living at their expense.
There is lots of talk about the U.S. Dollar losing it's status as the World Currency. In such a case it seems implosion is inevitable. The only thing that could extend our lunatic's dream is the ability to print as much money as desired to continue paying our increasing debt to other nations.
Is it possible that there will come a time when the printing press cannot produce fast enough the money we need keep up with our accelerating debt?
ADDITIONALLY: Is it possible that hardcore conservative fiscal policy implementation at this stage of the global economic game can actually pull America back from the edge? And what does that mean but austerity in some form?
The conservatives are now talking about defunding Obama Care, returning spending levels to 2008 levels for the USA...and allowing for tax cuts as well to keep the people afloat? Will it work? I suppose for the cause of liberty and freedom our elected representatives must at least try to do something to remedy the problem.
But supposing they do cut social programs...how much harder will that get for the lower and middle class who subsists in a poverty mentality relying upon the government for a check.
I can tell you personally that having lived in this same poverty mentality it is perhaps exactly what is needed for great men to stand up off their laurels and by sheer determination begin to learn how to take care of their families.
The sad truth is we have gone at least 2 generations...or more as American citizens, who in the majority have no idea how to live in a self-sufficient way. The bustling metropolis areas will become violent as the food supply shrinks, whether by economic hardship and "austerity" or by further degraded status of social anarchy.
Those who are waking up at this time to see the great calamity coming upon the USA and perhaps on the whole world are either totally brilliant or have been living at the edge of poverty before this ever began. When the middle class begins to disappear into the lower class...and the lower class begins to struggle even harder because there is less to go around, (from the government), the tension begins to increase.
We are seeing this now, everywhere you look, Americans are having a hard time just paying their bills...while employment is drying up everywhere. Hardship brings out the spirit of the entrepreneur and desperation is the mother of invention.
If there is hope of a rebound to this economy...I think it will happen because great men are revealed by the crucible of hardship, forming in them the determination to survive. But the other side of this coin is it will also reveal the greatest scoundrels of men, devoid of morality...Godless....who will do anything to survive themselves.
So it will be a rebound indeed. From the bottom up. While the weak and unprepared are thinned out of the population, the strong will survive.
But there is more to survival than just subsisting as human being. We have a great joy to look forward to the coming of Christ Jesus, who will deliver His people in the hardest day.
This is a battle of a spiritual nature and it must be fought by every person alive...the battle is for your soul. Love not your lives unto death and you will save them, says Jesus.
Christ wants you to see what are the most important things in life...and that is eternal life. We are but strangers and pilgrims passing through this life. And this world is not our home. All of creation is groaning and travailing as the birth pangs of the last days come to pass.
Earthquakes in diverse areas, said Jesus, and wars and rumors of wars. Austerity is just the beginning of the preparation. Despise not the years of preparation...but instead...use them wisely.
Pray that God will count you worthy escape all that is coming upon the earth.
God Bless you as you seek Christ in the glorious battle.
