World News: Occupy Wall Street Goes Global to Occupy Earth #OccupyEarth #OccupyTheWorld
October 15th, 2011 - Global Day of Action
I started covering Occupy Wall Street before it's public inception date on September 17th, 2011. Obvious from their planned Social Media and Web Marketing Campaigns for this protest agenda it was initially purposed to be an international protest. It was also designated as a national protest from city to city.
The Main Stream Media blocked out this event for the first two weeks of Occupy Wall Street, while the organization had their own live media feed providing excerpts of live video and replays of earlier events each day.
Now the agenda is beginning to fulfill in greater earnest it's Global Scope. Today is a key day for the development of their worldwide plans. October 15th - Global Day of Action is the latest headline for Occupy Wall Street.
OCCUPYWALLSTREET Headquarters on the web are at:
The Occupy Wall Street movement continues to grow because it is ambiguous enough to tap into the considerably large worldwide discontent and mistrust of National and International Financial Institutions.
The primary focus seems to be a vague discontent with the current status of the majority of populations in various countries. This has the makings of Global Revolution and I think it's only in it's infancy right now. It will be interesting to see where these united international demonstrations lead. This is territory that has never been entered before now.
The technological infrastructure for organization on a massive level is a boon to these Occupy Wall Street Global Protest organizers, allowing them to coordinate with every country in the world that has Social Networking available to it's citizens.
Now we have Obama tapping into the energy of OccupyWallStreet, perhaps trying to capitalize on the dissatisfaction of the protestors and become the "the man" who will step in and save the day.
Was this whole thing an intentional "cultural shaping" event to bring about the need for a Political Savior? What about a Political Savior on a Global Level? This is fodder for the cannon of biblical proportions to introduce a powerful figure to lead the world. This is a job for none other than the 'antichrist' himself.
Do these protestors really have any idea what they are going to accomplish? The sense I get from the street is that it does not really matter. Just the fact that the protest has reached global proportions of organization is a testament to "accomplishment" itself. There is real power in such a movement.
The Question is what will these people really do when they have consolidated the power of a global movement under their belts. Will someone come in and co-opt the entire movement? Similar to the TEA Party movement which has been co-opted by the Republican Establishment, it seems inevitable that Occupy Wall Street will be co-opted as well by a magnanimous leader, or a group of leaders who can claim to identify with the cause.
Obama seems like the first one on the "co-opt bus". We will see how succesful he can be.
Keep your eyes peeled for further development of this protest in every corner of the world and see the news links below for various locations that are rising and falling in the news for Occupy Wall Street.
National News for Occupy Wall Street #OccupyWallStreet
The month-old protest over wealth disparity that began in New York went global Saturday, organizers said. What began as the "Take Back Wall Street" campaign where thousands of protesters rallied in Lower Manhattan and staked a tent camp in a park, ballooned worldwide.
An online group calling itself the central site for the protest, United for Global Change, said more than 950 cities in 82 countries had rallies under way Saturday to protest the widening gap between rich and poor, CNN said.
Obama Capitalizing on #Occupy Movement for Re-Election
President Obama and his team have decided to turn public anger at Wall Street into a central tenet of their reelection strategy. The move comes as the Occupy Wall Street protests gain momentum across the country and as polls show deep public distrust of the nation’s major financial institutions.
Zuccotti Park cleaning canceled; violence breaks out
Despite city officials announcing a planned cleanup of Zuccotti Park had been canceled, some violence bubbled up in lower Manhattan on Friday morning. After the private owners granted the protesters reprieve from an order to leave the park, some protesters chose to march through the streets in celebration.
