I just watched this video from John Piper about Desiring God at Rick Warren's church in Saddleback, CA.  

I am not a big fan of Rick Warren or John Piper, but John Piper spoke at this conference and this first part of his message just blew my mind. 

I wanted to share it with you because it resonates with how I have been trying to express the sovereignty of God.  So many people get hung up on the fact that God says, "Praise Me, Glorify Me"....and that everything is for the good pleasure of His will.  But WHY?  Is God an ego-maniac?  In short no.  It is just within God's nature to express himself as the sovereign entity of the universe, but it is with joy that God shares himself with us, and invites us to participate in the ultimate truth of glorifying God with joy.  It's even better when we understand that God wants our joy to be complete in sharing this experience with others.  It's a joy fest...and the world could use alot more of God's supernatural joy.  Watch the video...and tell me what you think.
