The Christian world view should not be misunderstood by those around us.  The gospel message is a great light in the darkness.  We await the brightness of His coming.

Though we watch with a certain expectation the events of the world, our focus is not on fear or panic.

The ultimate focus of the Christian who studies God's Word is that the events taking place now are indicators of the glorious appearance of Jesus Christ which is to come.

They are also sober warnings of what we know will come upon the world and specifically what will come upon Christians and Jews in the last days.  The Kingdom of antichrist will not be good for anyone in the long run.

Those who choose to take the mark of antichrist and submit to worship the image of the beast for a short time of convenience in this world will be punished eternally in the lake of fire.  This is more than just a simple act of worship.  Making a choice to serve the world, beast system, is a choice against God.

Those who choose God and eternal life will endure persecution for a short time under the rule of antichrist.  This is to purify them.  Some will fall.  Some will be put to death.  But if we love not our lives, even unto death, then we will save our lives for eternity.

God really does care what choice you make...and it is a choice for life or for death.  Choosing eternal life by faith shows God that you truly do believe by faith (faith being the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen) that is who He says He is.

While some may characterize faith as blind, nothing could be further from the truth.  We see all around us, fulfillment of prophecy from scripture.

These are the proofs of our faith.  Things which have already come to pass.  As Christians we merely associate the actual events that were prophesied with the scriptures that have foretold the events that were to come.  Events like the reformation of Israel in 1948.  God said He would bring them from every country to which they have been scattered and re-establish them in the promised land.

This is a particularly amazing prophecy since the Jews were scattered for almost two thousand years without a homeland.  But they managed to keep their tradition and language intact over all this time.  This is unheard of for societies and cultures that have been scattered and absorbed throughout the world.

But God is faithful to bring His words to pass.  And there is more written still that has not yet come to pass, including:  the re-establishment of the seventh kingdom into the eighth kingdom of anti-christ.  It is my firm belief based upon scripture and historical fact that the eighth kingdom will be a Turkish-Ottoman Islamic Empire which will impose it's anti-christian point of view on the whole world...but more importantly centering around Jerusalem and Israel, as God's Word always does.

There is much to happen still before this comes to pass in it's fullness.  For example:

  1. There must begin a covenant for seven years, initiated by antichrist to bring peace to Jerusalem and Israel.   Daniel 9
  2. There must be a third temple rebuilt by the Jews in Israel, in which the antichrist will sit and declare himself God.  In the midst of the last seven years.  The abomination of desolation will occur.  Matthew 24.
  3. Also at the midpoint of the last seven years, Jerusalem must be surrounded by the armies of antichrist and desolated once again as the "gentiles" trample the holy city for forty two months.  Luke 21
These are just a few of the events that we as Christians are looking for to indicate that the last days are truly upon us.
But even now we see the birth pangs of Matthew 24 upon us.  Wars and rumors of wars abound.  There are earthquakes in diverse places as Jesus foretold...but we are just beginning even the birth pangs.  The creation groans and travails waiting for the return of the King of Kings.
So the Christian world view is not negative, nor is it doom and gloom.  It is simply a realistic point of view based upon the scriptures that we expect to come to pass and what we have already seen come to pass in recent history.
Some Christians worry about what they will do when the oppressive forces come against a defenseless people.  Some Christians will not fight.  Some Christians will fight.  Some Christians will run to prepared places stocked with resources which they have foreseen the need to build and stock.
Regardless of your plans, we know as Christians that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.  So we make preparations as Noah made preparations.
The Spirit of the Lord speaks to each individual heart about what they should be doing to prepare.  But all of us as Christians know that God is in control and that no matter what our calling is on that day of confrontation, that He will give us the strength in His might to go to battle in whatever fashion that is required.
Whether that is going into captivity with fellow dissenters to preach the gospel of peace to the lost and frightened, or to stand up and fight with arms against evil men who are deluded into supporting the destruction of antichrist, the power of God will be define the true Christian and guide his/her world view and actions for the last days.
God bless you as you seek Him.
In the Glorious Battle,
The Strong Watchman

  • A Sense Of History

As my wife and I toured the British Museum, we were struck by the history and legacy contained in that massive facility in London. We looked at artifacts that were centuries older than anything found in the United States, reminding me how valuable it is to have a sense of...

  • Not What I Planned

This isn’t the way I expected my life to be. I wanted to marry at 19, have a half-dozen children, and settle into life as a wife and mother. But instead I went to work, married in my forties, and never had children. For a number of years I was...

  • A Place For You

A couple who brought their elderly aunt to live with them were concerned that she would not feel at home. So they transformed a room in their house into an exact replica of her bedroom at the home she left behind. When their aunt arrived, her furniture, wall hangings, and...

  • Courageous Conversation

Is it possible that technological advances in communication have left us unable to confront people properly? After all, employers can now send layoff notices via e-mail. And people can criticize others on Facebook and Twitter instead of talking face to face. Perhaps it might be better to put all that...

  • Seeing Near And Far

During the early years of the Prot- estant Reformation in Europe, Katharina Von Bora, a former nun, married Martin Luther (1525). By all accounts, the two had a joyous married life. Luther said, “There is no bond on earth so sweet, nor any separation so bitter, as that which occurs...

  • Outside The Boat

Katsushika Hokusai was one of the most prolific and celebrated artists in Japanese history. Between 1826 and 1833, when he was in his mid-60s and early 70s, he created his greatest work—a series of color woodblock prints titled Thirty-Six Views of Mt. Fuji. Among those paintings was his masterpiece: The...

  • A Sense Of Concern

Statistics are tricky. While numbers give us information, sometimes they can also desensitize us to the people those numbers represent. This hit me recently as I read a statistic: Every year 15 million people die from hunger. That’s chilling, and for those of us who live in cultures of plenty,...
