or so they say. And as it turns out, from my own personal experience, I'd have to say they are right - but that there are some important factors that get left out of a blanket statement like that. Having said that, I want it known up front, I am not a medical professional, nor am I trained in the field of homeopathic medicine. What I am though, is a first hand benefactor of the results of a healthy lifetstyle change that includes: getting right spiritually, eating well, and exercise - that helps everything from one's spiritual state and mental capacity, to how you feel physically and emotionally.

Periodically I will post some articles on things I have tried and been successful with on my own journey to getting healthy. Part of why I started this journey was because like so many other people who have hit that middle-age time of our lives (and therefore bulging in the middle) - I decided to take my health back and get more in control of what was going on with my body - before it was too late and reached that point of no return.

And even though some well meaning Christians might argue (as I did myself for years very conveniently ;0) that 1 Timothy 4:8 says: "Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come." - and be right. I would argue (now), when your health interferes with how you are feeling (physcially) and thinking (mentally), and keeps you from being your best in God's kingdom (spiritually), and even economically in some regards, then I'd say it's time to take stock. And I had reached that point in June of 2008.

The other par or reason for my change in lifestyle is that - I wasn't feeling my best as I entered into middle-age and began to get closer to the half century mark. I was: low energy, experiencing migraine like headaches, struggling with bad skin, and a whole host of other uncomfortable symptoms. So between - my extra weight and how I was feeling let's just say I wasn't in the best of health. And I was literally sick and tired of it.

Although my initial journey began about two years ago – I would hit and miss, lose and gain, stop and start - repeatedly for out 1.5 years. Until I finally reached a point (this past summer) where I had just had enough and decided to get off my keister and get serious something about how I was feeling and how heavy I was getting. I had to get to that point, just like I did when I quit smoking, or just like anybody does when they quit anything (drugs, alcohol, and or otherwise) that is incongruent with a quality of life. Especially when that quality of life interferes with your temple (your body) honoring God (1 Cor. 6:20).

Once I: got in the right frame of mind, began to read, research, and ask the right questions (to the right people,) THAT is when things turned around for me. And that is what I hope to do here - share what worked for me; and hope that maybe it will work for you. It's not rocket science - just this average "Joe's" opinion and experience. To be continued (please check back soon ;0). . .
